"A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education."
~Theodore Roosevelt
Hi! I thought you should know a few things about me before we meet, so I comprised this "top ten" list. Of course, there are twelve... I'm an over-achiever.
- This is my second year at Scholars Guild. I taught 5/6 Literature last year and loved it.
- I am a teacher, a college student, a mom, a wife, a business owner, and a poet. (Not always in that order.)
- I grew up in Washington, D.C.
- The craziest thing I've ever done is jump out of an airplane at 14,000 feet.
- The coolest thing I've ever seen was a loggerhead sea turtle lay her eggs on a beach in Florida on the 4th of July, fireworks igniting in the distance!
- One of my favorite places is a cemetery--The Père-Lachaise in Paris, France.
- My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 20:27: "A person's breath is the lamp of the Lord, searching the innermost parts."
- Some of my favorite books are The Hobbit, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Sound and The Fury, and The Lorax.
- I love baseball and poetry.
- I have three children, two dogs, and one wild head of hair. (I apologize for the latter; hopefully, it will grow on you. Pun intended.)
- The firm foundations in my life are the Living God, my loving husband, and the Oxford comma; it is certain you will hear about all three this year.
- I believe learning can be hard work AND fun; expect both in my class.
